  7. This is a status report on Kevin Mitnick, aka Condor, labeled by the
  8. New York Times as "The FBI's Most Wanted Computer Criminal" and by the
  9. London Observer as "The Worlds Most Wanted Computer Hacker".

  11. On June 17, 1996 (Monday), after more than a year of negotiation with
  12. the U.S. Attorneys Office, Kevin Mitnick entered a plea of NOT GUILTY
  13. before Federal Judge Mariana Pfeltzer in Los Angeles, California.
  14.  
  15. This means that, in order to prosecute him, the FBI and US Attorney's
  16. office will have to air their dirty laundry before a federal jury,
  17. possibly jeapordizing their case in the process as well as risking
  18. indictment of several of their key people.

  20. Kevin Mitnick has hired Richard G. Sherman to represent him, noted
  21. criminal defense attorney and former partner of Gerry Spence, of Ruby
  22. Ridge (Randy Weaver vs United States) and Silkwood (Karen Silkwood vs
  23. United States) fame.
